Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026. This policy is written to meet Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

The short version: this is a church website that gives its material away. We do not sell anything, we do not advertise, we do not profile our readers, and we collect as little as it is possible to collect while still serving you a page.

1. Who we are

This site is published by Bible Believers' Cornerstone, a local church assembly meeting in the Montreal region, Quebec, Canada. Throughout this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that assembly.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

We only hold what you deliberately send us — for example, if you write to us with a question, a testimony, or a request for prayer. That means your name, your address of correspondence, and whatever you chose to write.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, our host records ordinary technical data when a page is served. This normally includes:

• the network address (IP address) making the request;
• the date and time of the request and the page requested;
• the browser and operating system reported by your device;
• the page that referred you, if any.

This is kept by our hosting provider in server logs for security and diagnosis. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers from it.

What we store on your device

We store a small number of settings in your own browser — your text-size preference and your cookie choices. These stay on your device and are never transmitted to us. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose personal information for any commercial purpose. Ever.
• We do not display advertising and we accept no advertising money.
• We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, social-media trackers or cross-site identifiers.
• We do not profile readers, and we take no automated decision that produces any effect on anyone.
• We do not require an account, a login, or a name in order to read anything on this site.

4. Why we hold anything at all

We use the little we hold only for these purposes:

• to deliver the pages you ask for and keep the site working;
• to protect the site against attack, abuse and technical failure;
• to answer you if you have written to us;
• to understand, in the aggregate and anonymously, which pages are being read — and only if you have given consent for that.

5. Consent

Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is set without your express consent, and refusing is made exactly as easy as accepting. You may change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or by clearing your browser storage.

6. Sharing with others

We share personal information with no one, with these narrow exceptions:

• Our hosting provider, which necessarily processes requests in order to serve the site. It acts on our behalf and holds only the technical logs described above.
• Where the law requires it — a valid court order, warrant, or legal obligation.

We do not transfer personal information outside Canada for any purpose of our own. Where a service provider stores data outside Quebec, we assess that the information receives adequate protection, as Quebec law requires.

7. How long we keep it

Settings stored in your browser	Held on your device until you clear them. Consent records expire after twelve months, when you will be asked again.

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to any correspondence is limited to those who need it in order to reply. No system is perfect, and we do not pretend otherwise; but we hold so little that there is very little to lose. Should a confidentiality incident occur that presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the persons concerned, as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Under Quebec and Canadian law you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you;
• Access it and receive a copy;
• Correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
• Withdraw consent at any time;
• Ask for deletion, or for a record to cease being disseminated, where the law allows;
• Receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format;
• Complain to us, and to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if our answer does not satisfy you.

Write to us and we will answer within the delay the law prescribes, ordinarily thirty days. There is no charge.

10. Children

This site is written for a general readership and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will destroy it.

11. Links to other sites

Where we link elsewhere, that site has its own policy and its own practices, over which we have no control. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the far side of it.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how we handle personal information will be flagged clearly.

13. Contact

This site has no contact form and no email address, deliberately. It also holds nothing about you: there is no database, no mailing list, no account, no analytics and no way to send us anything through these pages, so there is nothing here to access, correct or delete. Should you nevertheless wish to raise a matter with the person in charge of the protection of personal information, it may be raised in person with the assembly when it meets.
